Lyrics for the Jessie’s Well song-writing challenge for October 2021

I’ve travelled many miles
Been abused by total strangers
I’ve not seen many smiles
But I’ve faced a lot of dangers
I stumble up the beach
Looking shattered and worn out
A new life is within my reach
Will I hear a shout

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯?
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥
𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘴
𝘖𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥

I’ve come from a far off land
And fetched up on your shore
I’m leaving footprints in the sand
That just weren’t there before
I’m hungry and I’m tired
There’s no hatred on my face
I’m feeling quite inspired
And bring nothing but my grace

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯?
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥
𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘴
𝘖𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥

There are creatures in my clothes
And I desperately need a bed
Will I hear the shouts of those
Who’d rather I was dead
But despite the limitations
I’m thankful to be here
It’s a time for celebrations
That I’m not still over there

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯?
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥
𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘴
𝘖𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥
